July Blog Hop - Anything using Red, White & Blue

Red white blue july blog

Hello Paper Crafters!

Welcome To This Months  Blog Hop

"Anything Using Red, White & Blue"

20190703_162602

How Fun is a Spinner card, Right?

It just makes me smile!!

Our oldest was born on July 3rd, So I thought this would be a fun card for the grandkids to play with after he reads it. (So it is more for them than him. Chuckle...)

So for todays project I will be using Well Written Dies and some circle punches.

So Let's Get To It!!

Supplies Used:

 Pacific point cardstock  8 1/2 x 5 1/2, & Some scraps for the head & ears (111350)

Real Red cardstock  5 3/8 x 4 1/8, 6 strips of 13/16" x 4" (102482)

Whisper White cardstock  5 1/4 x 4 (100730)

2 1/4" Circle punch  (Mickey's head) (143720)

1 1/8" Circle punch (ears)

Subtle 3D embossing folder (151775)

Stars embossing folder (retired)

Well Written Dies (148534)

Sliding Star die (retired)

Scraps of Silver Glimmer paper (146960)

Tombow liquid glue (110755)

Dimensionals (104430)

2 Pennies

Let's start with the Stripes

20190703_142111

My trick for getting my stripes straight...

20190703_142146

Keep a strip without glue on it to place in between each row.

20190703_142310

Move it up as you glue...

20190703_144236

Punch out 2 circles with your 2" punch. 1 in Pacific Point and the other with the stripes.

Cut the Pacific Point circle in half and then quartered.

Punch 2 circles using the 1 1/8" circle punch for ears.

20190703_140342

I always punch shapes out of those little scrap  pieces of Glimmer and Foil paper before I trash them. I store them in empty embellishment containers for  times just like this!!

20190703_150014

I pulled out my stash of stars and glued them randomly  onto the 1/4 piece of Pacific Point cardstock.

Next glue the ears on.

20190703_131123

Now, let's glue the 1st 2 layers together and cut out your spinner track, then emboss it.

I double embossed on this card just to see how it would turn out. I ran it through using the Subtle embossing folder

then with the stars. LOL It is very subtle....

20190703_153018

Now turn it over. We need to place DOUBLED Dimensionals on the embossed part of the card ONLY.

Place a single dimensional on 1 of the pennies and place it in the center of your track. Remove the backing and place the other penny directly on top of it and turn it back to the front.

20190703_153138

Place another dimensional on top of the penny and attach the center of  Mickeys head to it.

Shake the card a bit, back and forth to round the dimensional on the penny,  so it glides smoothly in the track.

20190703_154622

Now attach the card front to the card base by removing the backing on your dimensionals.

Cut out your words from the Well Written Die set and glue them on the front of your card.

I did cut out Birthday to go on the inside of one of these cards for my sons Birthday!!

Then all of your die cutting and punching.

Tape your Basic Gray and Smokey slate cardstock pieces together before embossing them.

Keep the hearts you cut out of the Heart border for the inside of your card and for other projects!

GlitterQueenHop LOGO

Today I am showcasing the

"Precious Parcel" card kit from the

Stampin Up 2019 Sale - A - Bration booklet.

20190101_153757

I made a card as shown for my 1st item

THEN, I decided to make a treat holder out of the 2nd card !!

So happy how it turned out!!!

20190103_083651

Supplies used :

Precious Parcel card kit  149750

(Free with any $50.00 order from Jan 3 - Mar 31, 2019)

(2) 7/8 x 4 1/4 Soft Seafoam cardstock  146988

Pear Pizzazz Ink  147104

Snack size baggie

Multipurpose liquid glue  110755

Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Brush  141897

Simply Scored board  122334

Rectangle Stitched Framelits  148551

Small Velcro circle

Piece of scrap ribbon

So, LET'S GET TO IT!!!

20190102_231409

- First we will assemble the Mossy Meadow card,

per Kit instructions,

then add some Wink of Stella to it.

- Next, we need to cut off the side flap

being careful not to cut off the curved edge.

(I slightly bent that part up while cutting off the flap)

- Now scoring

20190102_184508

- Score a 3/8" score line from the crease at the top off the card,

Just past the slot opening

20190101_173607

  • - Place the original Score line on the score board so it lines up at 5 3/8"
  • Now score at 5 1/4 and 5 5/8.

20190102_231842

- Gather your plastic bag into a small bundle and  dab it into

your ink then on your 2 pieces of  cardstock.

  • -Score those on long side at 1/4"
  • and short side at 1/4" and 5/8"

20190102_183227

- cut bottom as shown on picture

20190102_183629

  • - Take tape backing off and attach side panels.
  • attach bow and corners to front of pouch BEFORE
  • you attach the front to the back of your pouch.

20190102_205158

- Fill pouch with your choice of goodies

20190102_223411

- I tied a bow with a piece of scrap ribbon

and used it to hide the hole on the flap

20190102_223709

( The stickiness from the Velcro is what holds the bow in place )

20190102_203600

- I took the flap that we cut off and used the New stitched rectangle dies on it.

20190102_223134

  • Place embellishments on card and put on some Wink of Stella!
  • Voila!

Here is a side view

20190103_100135

This step is not necessary, but it makes for a nice little Note card to

have handy when you need it!!

20190102_203600
